Apologia ~ Good Morning God

We were blessed to receive the book, "Good Morning, God" from Apologia to review. Here is my first impression of this book after I received it. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful pictures, and after reading it to myself I had such a calm sense of peace. I couldn't wait to read it to the kids! Now when we read it, my 7 year old son knows the words almost by heart and will say them along with me as I read it. That is how many times they have asked for it to be read to them. It truly is a treasured book here now!

The book is a very sturdy hardbound, the pages nice and thick, one of those "pass it down to your grandchildren" kind of books. We started reading it during Thanksgiving break, while we were on break ourselves, instead of our usual morning reading time. When I would read the title, my almost 2 year old would cheerily parrot it back to me, so cute!

The story is of a 4 year old boy, and how he goes about his day with his family, thinking about and worshiping God with them all through his day. It starts with a Sunday, and goes all through the week, and then ends on the next Sunday. The little boy says a simple sweet childlike prayer at the end of each day. My children liked this part, it is how they pray, from their heart about whatever is on their mind at the time. At the end of the book are discussion questions to use for each day if you want to. You can just use it as a storybook or use it as a mini curriculum if you like.

The book is available from Apologia for $14.00. There is a sample page for you to view, just click on the link on this page. This would make a great Christmas, or anytime gift. The recommended age range is from 1 to 8 years old. I can personally say my 1, 4, 6, and 7 year olds enjoyed it thoroughly. (And so did I!)
