Times Alive!

Have you been looking for a fun way to reinforce the learning of the times tables for your child? Does your child like cartoons? Is your child a visual or audible learner? This may be the product you have been searching for!

City Creek Press has a fun supplementary math program called Times Alive that is available as a download for $44.95 or you can purchase the program on CD/ROM for $48.95. If you purchase a Times Alive Kit you can get the program at 50% off! Click on the picture below to see other products offered by City Creek Press.

My kids enjoyed watching these videos, I did not tell them they were supposed to be learning anything. The program starts out by giving a pretest to see how much your child already knows about the times tables. My kids knew nothing because we had not started learning them yet, so we started from scratch. The first video was all about "King Zero" and he told them about the zero math facts. This got them off to a happy start! The program then progressed on from there to other numbers. Each child can move along at their own pace.

My 7 year old son especially liked the cute videos, and he has learned quite a bit so far. He is just a second grader so I didn't expect him to really get into multiplication at this point, but he has learned from the program and now has a head start in this area. My 6 year old has memorized some of the jingles, but I'm not sure she understands yet what she is saying. Again, she will have a head start in this, and when we do get to learning the times tables I am sure she will make the connection.  It will be a fun supplement to our current math program and provide some practice that is enjoyable to them. Times Alive has been a big hit in our house!
