Wondermaps ~ Bright Ideas Press

Wondermaps is a brand new program from Bright Ideas Press.  It has over 350 different maps all together in one place. At the beginning of our school year we bought a huge wall map of the world to use with our studies this year. We have used it to identify oceans, continents, countries, etc. I always wished we had more detailed maps to use in our studies. Wondermaps has filled that need for us!

The program is so easy to use, you use the simple directories to find just the map you need, and then either use it right on the screen or print it off. For each map there are several ways you can edit it with the click of a mouse.....

• outline, reference, political, or topographical maps


• black-and-white or color maps


• features including:  names, borders, rivers, cities, physical features, and graticules

Besides using wondermaps to enhance our geography and history studies, we also used it to look up places we read about in stories and at bible time. The kids wanted to know where some missionaries are that came to our church, I was able to show them. When we prayed for hurricane and flood victims recently we were able to see just where these people are. We have been finding all kinds of ways to use this program, I never knew we needed it so much until we had it!



This year we have studied the 50 states. Our curriculum included a US map, but its been great to have a map of each state with this program. We like adding in all the rivers and streams to see just how mach water is flowing through the state. Fun!! I am sure this is a program we will use more and more as the kids get older and their interests and curriculum changes.

Wondermaps is available as a download or a download plus CD for $49.95. It can be used for all ages, and with any curriculum. Just be sure you have downloaded Adobe Reader version 9.1 or higher (free download) before you try to install it.
