My oldest daughter read this book when she was in high school, she loved it. I always meant to read it myself but with my busy life I never got around to it. I was excited to review the movie! Its always easier to fit in a movie for me in this stage of my life.
I have been told by several who have read the book that it is better, and that usually is the case with all movies made from books. I enjoyed this movie, and because of that fact I am even more inspired to also read the book. I feel like there should have been more at the end, but this is the first book in a series so there is room for a sequel.
I really liked that I could watch this movie with my whole family. This is VERY important to me! I like sharing movie nights with everyone, and there isn't a huge selection of movies made today that fit that bill.
You can watch a trailer from The Shunning here.
