Wits and Wagers Family

 

Does your family have a regular game night? Would you like to, but would like a new game the whole family can actually enjoy?

I have a great suggestion for you! Wits & Wagers Family is one of the best family night games we have played in a long time. The game states it is for ages 8 and up, but because the answer to every question is a number, my 5 year old can play along with us. Each player has their own dry erase board to write their answer on, and I can help write down my 5 year old's answer if she needs it. This game has been both fun and challenging. Some questions that I thought I really knew the answer to ended up being wrong! And the 5 year old, who just chants out random numbers for answers actually gets a few right!

You have to guess the number closest to the answer without going over, sounds easy right? Well it is easy to play, and easy to get started, but sometimes you just have no clue what the answer is, and that is part of the fun! You dont have to guess the right answer to get points though. Each person (or team) has two little wooden "meeples" and you place them on the answer you think is right, it doesn't have to be your own. So you have 2 more chances to score some points for each question.

I love the questions in this game! They really make you think, and I've learned quite a bit while playing as well. Who knew a honey bee's wings flap 230 times a second? Is that even possible? Wow, all I can say about that is, how do they even know this stuff? And wow, God is so amazing!

I also appreciate that this game does not take hours to play. If you have young children you will appreciate this too. Some games can drag on and on, and I find myself wanting to just quit sometimes. Each game averaged about 30 minutes for us. The game was easy to set up and get started playing, the large full color instruction sheet was easy to read, and understand. I appreciated that a lot because the kids wanted to play the game the minute it arrived at the door!

The kids give this game two thumbs up, and so do I!
