Cooper and Me and The Military ~ Review and Giveaway!

Photobucket

Have you heard of Cooper and Me books? Let me tell you a little about this cute series of books for kids.

From the website...

Meet Trooper, Cooper’s best friend, and learn how he was adopted by Gracie and Joe and their parents, who both serve in the military. Find out how this family stays close despite being separated.

A must-read during patriotic holidays and for anyone with friends and family in the military, this book helps children know, that even when loved ones aren’t with us, they still love us and think about us. This book, along with all the other books in the Cooper and  Me series, includes these interactive features:
• A Special Memory Creation
• Life Lesson
• Connections
• Learning Together

In addition to a fun adventure, each Cooper and Me story teaches an important Life Lesson and features interactive materials at the back of the book to drive the message home.  Included are activities that help children name and process their own feelings about what they’ve read.

Even if you are not a military family, chances are you know a family that is or will meet one someday. Deployment might not be a part of your child's life right now, but being there for a friend or family member who may face this situation could be.

I love that the Cooper and Me books are written by a mother and daughter team, Alexa and Monique Peters, starting when Alexa was just 11 years old. I have always wanted to write a children's book, and I have a son who is a budding artist. Perhaps someday we can write a book together too, these books inspire us!

My kids enjoyed this book, Cooper reminds them of a black Labrador dog we had once.  I like that the discussion questions at the end of the book get us talking together as a family. The Cooper and Me website also has a parents page and reading guides for all of the books. There are coloring pages and games for the kids too!

  2. We have other Cooper and Me books that my youngest son likes. Plus, we are connected to the military community here between my husband's job on base and several friends that are military.

  3. We're a military family, and I'd love to win this book to share with my Kindergartener. She doesn't remember my dh's last deployment and doesn't understand when we talk about people we know that are deployed.
