This wonderfully imaginative children’s hardcover book by bestselling authors Gary Chapman and Rick Osborne, featuring four-color illustrations (with hidden details!) by Wilson Williams, Jr., will help children learn the importance of love. Based on Gary’s highly successful The 5 Love Languages®, A Perfect Pet for Peyton tells an entertaining and playful story of five children who each, with the help of Mr. Chapman and the unique pets at his special emporium, discover their own personal love language. Children and parents alike will experience firsthand the power of the love languages as they cuddle up and spend precious time together reading this book over and over again.

A Perfect Pet for Peyton is a high quality hardback book, and the illustrations are cute and fun. My kids liked finding all the hidden bugs on each page. Years ago I read The 5 Love Languages of Children, but I have been having a hard time figuring one of my kids out. Of course we need to show love to our kids in all 5 languages but if you know their primary love language you can really make them feel extra special and loved and keep their "love tanks" filled.
A Perfect Pet for Peyton helped me see my mystery child's primary language, and it turns out it is the same as Peyton's!
The 5 love languages are...
Gifts
Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Physical Touch
Acts of Service
Everyone has a primary love language, and everyone needs to feel loved. Knowing a child's love language can help in so many ways, and also explains why some children act out when their love tanks are getting empty.
I will be reviewing The 5 Love Languages Book for Children also in a few days, but this new book written to children helps them figure out their own love language for themselves (and in turn helps you make them feel loved!) Win win!

I am not sure about my kids' love languages, but mine is gifts and I think words of affirmation. It's been awhile since I read the book! :)
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to read on my kids love languages for quite awhile and just haven't gotten around to it!
ReplyDeleteI do know theirs and mine and none are the same.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what Supergirl's love language is but I know mine and I don't think they are the same. I know Tailorbear's and hers is different than mine but I think it is also different than her sisters.
ReplyDeleteI would love the opportunity to win this book. We were just discussing love languages as a family a week ago, writing down what we thought our languages were from most to least. This stirred on such a wonderful time together..
ReplyDeleteFUN!!! I have done the love language test and I was pretty close in my guess. I know my own as well...and with at least one of my kids they are the same. Anyway...What a fun giveaway! :)
